GTA Companies maps every company that fits your criteria, reaches the owners directly, and brings you the ones ready to talk. Platforms, add-ons, and strategic acquisitions, with a live view of the pipeline the whole way.

Buy-and-build is now the default private equity playbook. Every platform thesis assumes a steady supply of add-ons.
The best of those add-ons are founder-owned businesses that aren't for sale yet. No banker sends a teaser for them. Someone has to find them, earn the conversation, and keep it warm until the timing is right.
That's what we do.
What we do
Every engagement starts from your criteria, and every search is run by people who have sat on the buy side.
Platform and add-on origination to your exact criteria. We build the target universe, run owner-direct outreach, and hand you qualified conversations.
Acquisition searches for corporate development teams expanding into new markets, adding capabilities, or consolidating a fragmented niche.
Practical AI for funds and the companies they own: faster screening and monitoring at the fund, automation and better forecasting inside the portfolio.
How it works
Five steps, run continuously for as long as the search is live. You can see every one of them.
We turn your investment thesis into precise criteria: sector, geography, size, ownership, and the deal-breakers.
We build the full universe of companies that fit, not just the few that happen to be for sale, and identify the owner at each.
Personal, owner-direct outreach at scale, over multiple touches, written the way a principal would write it.
We screen every reply, gather the basics, and set up calls only when there is a real fit and a real owner on the other end.
You meet owners who are ready to talk. Every target, touch, and reply is tracked in your private client portal.
Client portal
Every client gets a private, password-protected portal. It shows the target universe, the outreach, the replies, and every deal by stage, updated as the search runs.

Why GTA
We start conversations before a sale process exists, so you meet owners before there is an auction, and before your competitors do.
Each search is built from your criteria and sharpened with your feedback as it runs. We don't recycle a generic list.
Your client portal shows every target, message, reply, and meeting. You always know what has been done and what comes next.
Our founder has worked deals from origination to close across dozens of transactions. We screen like buyers, because we have been buyers.
Sectors
Seven sectors, with the most activity where fragmented, founder-owned markets make buy-and-build work.
Specialty manufacturing, distribution, testing and inspection, engineered components.
Facility services, managed IT, compliance, outsourced back-office.
Home health, staffing, practice management, medical equipment.
Branded products, multi-unit services, food and beverage.
Utility services, efficiency, field services, grid infrastructure.
Vertical software, IT services, data and analytics.
Marketing services, information services, events.
If your thesis sits outside these sectors, tell us. The method travels.
Leadership
Gary Alcock has spent his career on both sides of the table, in private equity and in investment banking. GTA Companies puts that experience to work for buyers.
His career spans investment management at Morgan Stanley, M&A and restructuring advisory at Houlihan Lokey, and a central role in several private equity funds spun out of Platinum Equity, where the focus was corporate divestitures and proprietary acquisitions.
He has worked leveraged buyouts, distressed assets, and corporate divestitures across industrials, business services, healthcare, consumer, energy, technology, and media, with A-to-Z experience on dozens of transactions. He built GTA to source deals more effectively than a typical business development team can.
He studied corporate finance at USC and is based in Los Angeles.
